August 27, 2024 will remain a founding date in the Beninese risk management landscape. It was on this day that theAssociation for Risk Management and Insurance of Benin (AMRAB)<\/strong>, on the occasion of his Constituent General Assembly<\/strong> in Cotonou. Through this initiative, a collective of professionals sought to address the increasingly pressing challenges related to proactive risk management in an uncertain economic, social, and environmental context.<\/p>\n\n

A shared desire: to structure a professional framework dedicated to risk management<\/h3>\n\n

The national and international context requires businesses and institutions to adapt quickly to emerging risks: cybercrime, climate change, pandemics, and economic instability. Yet, in Benin, few organizations previously offered a formal framework for reflection, training, and support in this area.<\/p>\n\n

It is to fill this gap that AMRAB was born, with the ambition of:<\/p>\n\n

    \n
  • Bring together stakeholders in the field (insurers, risk managers, businesses, experts, etc.)<\/li>\n\n
  • Promoting risk culture at all levels<\/li>\n\n
  • Train professionals to anticipate and respond effectively to hazards<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

    A founding assembly rich in commitments<\/h3>\n\n

    The General Assembly was attended by founding members, potential partners, and observers. It was marked by:<\/p>\n\n

    • The adoption of statutes and internal regulations<\/strong><\/li>\n\n
    • The election of the Board of Directors<\/strong><\/li>\n\n
    • Validation of the strategic vision<\/strong> in the short and medium term<\/li>\n\n
    • Opening the association to new members (individual and institutional)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

      The participants unanimously welcomed the importance of such a project and the need to build a culture of prevention in Benin<\/strong>, beyond the sole insurance sector<\/p>\n\n

      Action-oriented governance<\/h3>\n\n

      The elected Board of Directors reflects the diversity of profiles involved in this initiative. It is composed of:<\/p>\n\n

      • Academics and researchers<\/li>\n\n
      • Promising young professionals<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n

        This collective immediately defined action priorities: organizing the first training sessions, establishing administrative procedures for legal recognition of the association, and launching awareness campaigns.<\/p>\n\n

        A solid foundation for national ambition<\/h3>\n\n

        The Constitutive General Assembly marks the official starting point of AMRAB, which is already establishing itself as a structuring and expert voice in the field of risk management in Benin<\/strong>This organizational base paves the way for numerous initiatives with lasting impact.<\/p>\n\n
